Morning Workshop: Learn (or Improve) Inversions with the Yoga Hammock (2 hours)
Date: Sunday, July 21, 2019, 10:00am-12:00pm
Unsupported Inversions take many years to learn. Even somewhat simple inversions such as a shoulder-stand can be more challenging to practice than on first assumption. One needs to train the body and mind to learn how to get into the inversion, how to find balance once there, how to last in the position, and how to get out of the position safely.
We will use the hammock as a tool to train your body and mind in these many aspects of inverting, so that you’ll know how to confidently practice inversions on your own, and one day you’ll be able to do perfect inversions, unsupported!
Afternoon Workshop: Smooth Flow Aerial Yoga (3 hours)
Date: Sunday, July 21, 2019, 2:00-5:00pm
In the first part of this workshop, we will learn how to use the hammock as a tool for any challenging parts of the class sequence that will follow. We’ll be able to offer personalized adjustments for anyone who needs them during this section. Then because of this process, the class that will follow will flow smoothly. At the end of the movement class, you’ll learn simple and practical breath techniques to prepare your mind for a gentle transition into meditation.
This way of learning (repetition of difficult parts + extra time) works for both seasoned practitioners and those new to aerial yoga. And, because all Unnata Aerial Yoga classes use the same underlying framework, you’ll be able to use most of the unique and fun parts you learn in this workshop in future open level classes at Sacred Sounds Yoga.
Cost: Single Workshop $40/$45 day of; Both Workshops $75/$80 day of
