The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program is available only to students who are already Certified Yoga Instructors.
Use of the Aerial Yoga hammock prop helps students and teachers alike find a different relationship to gravity, deepening your understanding of alignment and Prana flow.
The course is structured as both an Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program, and for use as a Yoga teacher continuing education. You need never teach an Unnata Aerial Yoga class to benefit from participating in the Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training course.
Unnata Aerial Yoga founder and creative force, Michelle Dortignac, teaches 100% of the course. Michelle has been a Yoga student for over 20 years, and a Yoga teacher for over 13 years. Aerial Yoga may be a new concept, but the science of Yoga is not. Michelle Dortignac can teach you how to use the Aerial Yoga hammock as a prop for your Yoga classes, how to avoid gimmickry, and how to maintain that juicy relaxed and rejuvenated feeling you’ve come to expect from truly great Yoga classes.
With a limit of 6 Trainees in each Teacher Training program, the application process must be highly selective, and out of necessity only open to already-certified (or equivalent) Yoga instructors. The small class size ensures each teacher trainee receives as much personal attention as desired, which is the only way to truly master an entirely different Yoga technique in an accelerated amount of time.
Unnata Aerial Yoga has already been established as the leader for quality in this newly designed field of “suspension training.” We invite you to join our pioneering community of innovative, fun, and sincere Yoga instructors.
Program Details
The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teachers Training program is comprised of three areas:
- Fundamentals of Unnata Aerial Yoga
- Intermediate/Advanced Aerial Yoga
- Sequencing an Unnata Aerial Yoga Class
In order to teach Unnata Aerial Yoga, you must take 100% of the training (no partial days allowed). You also must pass the final exam. The pace of this program is very fast, and it may at times be intense for your body, but it will also be quite fun. Even though the course is taught at a quick pace, most students do not have difficulty passing the final exam solely with the knowledge gained from the program. If a student does not pass the exam the first time, they are allowed to take the test again.
Upon successful completion of the Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program and successfully passing the examination, trained teachers are granted a limited license to use the Unnata Aerial Yoga trademark for teaching their classes. The ability to use the Unnata name will allow new teachers of Unnata Aerial Yoga to take advantage of the good publicity and good reputation that has been cultivated over several years, a name that has always been associated with authentic Yoga instruction.
Once you become an Unnata Aerial Yoga instructor, your name will be included on the Teacher’s page of the Unnata website, along with your location, contact information, and website link (if you have one). Potential students and press from anywhere who look for an Aerial Yoga class in their area will be able to easily find you right from the Unnata website, in addition to all the marketing you do for yourself. This will be a significant advantage for you, as anytime Michelle Dortignac or Unnata Aerial Yoga receives press coverage; your classes will also receive the benefit of that promotion.
After the initial 2 years, licenses will expire every year with the option to renew. The renewal process will be an assurance of safety and quality control standards. At this time, the fee for renewal is $50. Along with maintaining your contact information on the Unnata website, the renewal fee allows for continued participation in the Facebook Unnata Aerial Yoga teachers community, where all Unnata teachers (including Michelle) share information regarding the aspects of teaching this unique class – developments in instruction, new Aerial Asanas, as well as business matters unique to teaching Unnata Aerial Yoga. Even if you are located in an area where there are no Unnata Aerial Yoga instructors, you will not have to feel isolated.
